Indian passport, visa, OCI, and other consular services have resumed across Australia through VFS Global, bringing relief to thousands of applicants who were affected by the temporary suspension earlier this month. The service restart took effect on 23 July 2026 and is now being handled through upgraded Indian Consular Application Centres in six major cities.
The updated VFS centre locations are as follows:
Adelaide — Suite 8.01, Level 8, 111 Gawler Place, Adelaide SA 5000
Brisbane — Suite 0201, Level 2, 127 Creek Street, Brisbane City QLD 4000
Canberra — Level 6, 40 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra ACT 2601
Melbourne — Ground Floor, 324 St Kilda Road, Melbourne VIC 3004
Perth — Ground Floor, 23 Barrack Street, Perth WA 6000
Sydney — Level 9, 22-24 Market Street, Sydney NSW 2000
According to the official update, the new centres are designed to better meet demand, with increased staffing, more service counters, longer collection hours, and expanded appointment availability. Applicants are advised to check the official VFS Australia India page before visiting and to confirm appointment and document requirements in advance.
For Indian Australians, especially students, workers, and families needing urgent travel documents, the resumption of services is a welcome relief after weeks of disruption. The restored network should help clear the backlog and make passport renewals, visa applications, and OCI processing more accessible again.
